League Rules

The West Coast Gamers 40K leagues will launch on the 20th of July and uses the current Chapter Approved 25-26 mission deck. The battle size will be either incursion (1K) or strike force (2K) but players can agree on a points total for the game if say one player only has 1500 points, in that instance though the strike force rules would apply.

Each venue will run its own league with a league admin per venue, they have access to this site and can update teams and match results etc. Any questions should be directed at your local admin member if they are not covered here. Players that play in more than one venue are free to play in both leagues if they wish.

Above all the leagues are about having fun so should players wish to house rule something in particular during a game that is fine and it will be up to them to referee, with conflicts being solved by a roll-off if they can not agree. All players will also have to follow the WCG club rules as outlined on their Facebook page.

Season Structure

The league season will last as long as it takes registration for the current season closes on the 1st of July. The league will then start on the 20th of July where, fixtures will be drawn up for the first “Match Round” and it will be up to the league players to arrange when to play their fixture with each other. Once all the fixtures for that “match round” have been completed, the next match round will be drawn, and so on until every player has played each other once. If players can not arrange their game within a reasonable time frame and it is holding up the next “match round”, then a draw will be declared so that the league can continue. Once they have completed a match players should submit there scores to the league administrator, in as much detail as they can but at a minimum the number of primary and secondary points scored by each player should be sent. Users can also provide photos if they want them included on the match report.

Scoring

Players will score the league points for each victory point they gain in a match plus 50pts bonus for a win. So for example if players A and B are having a match and player A wins by 65 to 40. Player A will get 115 league points and Player B will get only 40. In the event of a draw both players will get their points plus 25 bonus points.

After a game, players should submit there scores to the league administrator, in as much detail as they can but at a minimum the number of primary and secondary points scored by each player should be sent. Users can also provide photos if they want them included on the match report.

Army Rules

Players will be limited to only 2 factions for the league but can change their list for each game should they wish to. This is to prevent seasoned players who have lots of armies from having an unfair advantage over those with limited units. However, players must declare their faction to the opposition prior to the sharing of lists, this is to prevent hard countering of armies as much as possible.

No additional points will be gained for fully painted armies, this is to allow people to use all their models over the course of the full season, unlike a normal tournament which often only takes up a weekend and has a long lead-up to the games.

Proxies

Proxies are allowed within the league but they must be models of equivalent size and base, so no using a guardsman to represent a bane blade, or a bottle of tomato sauce to represent a bloodthirster. Also, players should try and limit proxies to one or two models/units, this is to help with the mental load on your opponent who will have to remember their own rules and what you are proving for what as such your opponent should be ok with any proxies you wish to use.

WYSIWYG Rules

As with proxies, the league wants to encourage players to try and test all their models so they do not have to be modelled with the correct weapon or war gear. However players should make it clear to their opponent, what weapon or war gear a model or unit has, and it should be clear on the model if it has different gear to the rest of the unit. This is to prevent confusion when models are removed if the special weapon model etc was removed or not.
