Below are the frequently asked questions about the league(s), please check below to see if it answers your question if not please contact you local league administrator or the site admin on the contact page.
Where are matches Played?
Each league will normally play matches at their normal local venue. However if you opponent agrees to it then matches can be played at any location, even if that location is a different league location. The important thing is that the normal league rules are followed.
What GW rules are in play?
The most up to date points and rules should be used, each league is likely to run for several months if not a full year (depending on the number of players), so with Games Workshop updating rules and releasing codex etc. constantly they can not be fixed at the start of the league. So always use the most up to date rules possible and the latest field manual for points.
What about the new Twist cards and asymmetrical missions?
This is not a tournament so the normal GW tournament pack does not apply. Both players should agree before hand if they wish to use Twist cards to make the game more interesting. However the asymmetric missions and deployments should not be used at least initially as they may affect balance.
What is a match round?
Each round of matches is a match round. So for example if there are 10 players in the league, each player will play 9 matches so the league will consist of 10 match rounds. Generally players will be given enough time to organise their game in a match round but if one round is taking too long and likely to cause problems, like say when a new edition is coming out, then the league admins may set a deadline when they announce the rounds matches.
Do I have to always have the same size games?
No, if one week your opponent can only field 1500 points but your next opponent may have the full 2000 points. This is fine, as long as it’s agreed before hand, and your games are always 1000 points or more.
Why are games 1000 points and above?
Generally the game is most balanced at 2000 points but it also plays well at 1500 and 1000 points. Below this however and point scoring changes as you may not have as many spare units to do actions and hold objectives etc. so typically these are lower scoring games. This means you would be heavily disadvantaged so to keep things fair the points are gapped at those limits.
What happens after a match?
You should submit your scores, via a league admin or email the site administrator. You must at least submit the primary and secondary points as they are factored into league scoring, however if you want to send more information like a full match report with pictures, feel free, these will be uploaded to the site for viewing.
